The Media, the history of perception

As long as Walter Cronkite and Vietnam was in my living room with no choice, I have dealt with projected reality. And, for almost as long I have wondered about why too many people cave to what either the Russians or republicans have wanted. I never believed it was the case, but I have remained silent, up to now, and only then was I able to understand it as perception, whatever that is. Let’s start with redefining it as misplaced belief often based on emotional or ‘traditional’ reflex. As we moved through the 80’s this perception has remained despite the fall of the Berlin Wall and ‘Communism’ as we know it, alive and well in painting Democrats and lamestream media into the manipulations of the republican party and the (so called) religious right or whatever they are calling themselves (I forgot the label they pushed on lamestream media at the time). Instead, we got George W Bush (Idiot Blue Blood) and 9-11.
Perhaps this perception should have been questioned when the Electoral College manipulated by whoever elected Bush Jr, but that would be against the Constition ‘as the framers created it.’ From there faux and lamestream media was obsessed with being ‘fair and balanced’ and feared being labeled as a communist….I mean terrorist, it is as if the powers that be crossed off or used white out to change it. Lamestream media should have noticed this, but instead took the easy way out and continued to sip their lattes and paychecks in comfort as Catrina and the Great Recession passed. It was easier to comply and report the perception projected my faux and rush Limbaugh than question anything, they might be cut off at Starbucks. It was easier to ridicule Olberman, Maddow and MSNBC than to question the supremacy of faux and the mighty El Rushbow, despite the losses in 2006, 2008 and the Great Recession. When that happened, the republicans threw a tea party rather than face why they lost. It is hard to question their success that led up to November of 2016. Uncle Rupert and Roger Ailes kept paying the tabs for the lamestream lattes on the tab of ‘Fox Broadcasting.’ Any questions?
I am serious about the questions if you don’t have any then riddle me this? Why does faux and fright wing media hate woke so much? I would also like to ask why it was so important for Chriss Licht to remake CNN in faux’es image so much, but I need to explain that beyond the two previous paragraphs, so let’s stick to 2024 and the media landscape in place. Back to the hatred of woke, to them not enough of the rest of us have pressed snooze after 11-9, COVID and THE DOBBS DECISION. All three of these moments work better than any dose of caffeine or whatever energy drink, and the perception that kept the republicans and fright wing media used to rule for fun and profit.
As we go into 2024, we need to pay attention to what is going on, and we need to be able to trust the media we are consuming in order to make our decisions. If you don’t, then either figure out what is going on or find reporters, pundits and or media outlets that you do trust, and then verify again. The media perceptions that got us to this point persist, this is human nature. For now in 2024 we need to remain vigilant, life as we know it is in danger.
