14th Amendment

As 2023 closes, we should set the stage for 2024 as the judges and politicians return from their vacation. Let’s start with a look at the 14th amendment and understand the original intent although it was not Jefferson, Maddison and the others who many today try to put words in their mouth to support whatever hypocrisy they want to support. In this case we go to March 1865 when the “Party of Lincon” needed to address how to readmit the southern states back into the union without allowing them to undermine the Union as they did before succession. The answer was to put a clause into the 14th amendment to disallow any elected official of the Union who then acted against the Union from holding elected office. The 14th amendment was also clear about due process for those who were left off the ballot. It was not determined by trial but through an act of congress with a two thirds vote for those who are accused of acting against the Union. This is clear. Donald John Trump has been identified as a former elected official who acted against the Union, and there is no evidence that Congress will allow him to run for office by a two thirds vote. The 14th Amendment is clear.
As 2024 comes around, it seems that the courts have taken on the issue without a trial or any disputation as to what Donald James Trump did, and the disturbing truth is the Supreme Court as it now stands might force Trump back on the ballot by creating some legal loophole as they did with Bush v Gore and the Dobbs Decision, and a lot of us including lamestream media are in favor of it claiming this should be determined through an election. Although it is clear to the framers of the 14th that this is a bad idea, too many of us are willing to go along with it for all kinds of reasons. Even I believe that Trump ideally should be vanquished at the ballot box, but I am as sure of victory as I was for Hillary to win in 2016. This is the very danger that led to the 14th amendment to be amended.
We go forward at our own risk. Think of the disaster of the Trump presidency and what led up to January 6th before answering this.
